While this isn’t a typical artist statement you would see in the third person, I feel like this fits me the best because I want this website to feel inviting and personable! In university, students were often told that we needed to find one medium or specific theme to make a name for ourselves in art and I want to change that stigma. The majority of my art definitely showcases my specific style in the way I create because I do tend to learn towards more alternative themes, but I don’t want to stick with creating with only one to two mediums. I want to create and try all mediums of art! That is why I like to call myself a “mixed media” artist. Sometimes I love making sculptures and 3D pieces including ceramics and jewelry, while other times I enjoying drawing with ink pen or acrylic markers etc. I love so many types of art and I like trying different things. I don’t think that I should have to stick to one type of art to make a name for myself. Art is art and it should make us happy as creatives.
